A straight celebrant at the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney, Australia had the best response when he was asked why he showed up in support of his queer best friend.
The clip, drawn from an interview at the celebration by a correspondent with ABC iview, is emblazoned with the words "There is nothing more wholesome than this."
The video starts with the microphone-wielding reporter saying, "I want to introduce you to David and Will."
The two pals are wearing festive garb, including similar classic leather-man caps that are adorned with sequins. The reporter notes that David is gay, while Will is straight, and asks Will, "What does it mean to you to be here tonight as a straight man supporting your best mate?"
Without hesitation, Will declares, "It's good to come and support Dave and all the gay people and all that. The community all get together and then we all can... get on together."
"A lot of people still, back where I come from, out in the bush, are a bit funny about it," Will goes on to add. "But people are starting to realize it's all good now, you know?"

Asked what he thinks of the massive celebration, Will enthuses, "This is amazing. People from all around Australia should get down and come and see it!"
With this year's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras featuring numerous events and concerts boasting headliners like Honey Dijon, Hayla, Lady Shaka, and Inaya Day, Will is surely right!
