33-year-old Garrett Bruno, a gay travel influencer and MAGA supporter, died at his parents' home while awaiting trial for the death of an elderly woman last autumn, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mail detailed that "Bruno, who was also known on social media known as Garrett Travels (@garrett.travels), was reportedly found dead at his parents' home in Mount Dora, Florida on the evening of Tuesday, March 4."

"At the time of his death, Bruno was out on bail after being arrested and charged with second degree murder in a car crash that left an 83-year-old woman dead."

NBC Los Angeles reported at the time that "Esther Abouab died in a car crash on Oct. 10" when their vehicle and Garrett's collided. "Abouab died at the scene and her husband was left seriously injured," the NBC Los Angeles report said.

Bruno "was accused of running a red light in his Ford Explorer while speeding in a 25mph zone and T-boning a Ford Expedition in which Abouab was traveling," the Mail relayed. "A toxicology report found Bruno had ketamine and GHB in his system at the time of the crash that killed Abouab."

Bruno was charged on several counts, "including murder, reckless driving and battery on a peace officer," the NBC Los Angeles news account detailed.

After a few days in the hospital, Bruno was released, the Mail said. A few days later he fell from a scooter and suffered a jaw injury.

"On October 19, nine days after the crash, Bruno was photographed snorting drugs outside his West Hollywood home in broad daylight by DailyMail.com," the Mail said. "He claimed the powder was prescription ketamine in a post uploaded to his Instagram account."

Less than a week later, Bruno suffered a second scooter mishap and ended up hospitalized in a coma. During that hospitalization, law enforcement sought his arrest. He was remanded to Twin Towers jail in December, where he was housed in "a wing with other gay and bisexual prisoners," according to the Mail.

Bruno was arraigned in January on murder charges stemming from the crash. The Mail reported at the time that Bruno was "suffering from brain damage" and was unable to stand on his own at his arraignment.

Once his bail was posted, Bruno flew to Florida from California to stay with his parents. He was awaiting trial when he died.

"Bruno surprised the LGBT community in his home of West Hollywood last year by coming out as a MAGA supporter," the Mail noted.
