Ben Whishaw has just landed his next role, and it is iconic.
As reported by Deadline, Whishaw will star in an "intimate" movie about the life of photo artist Peter Hujar, who was a leading figure in the artist, writer and musician circles of Manhattan until his death from AIDS in 1987.
For the film, Whishaw will be reunited with his "Passages" director Ira Sachs.
Additionally, "Passages" has been garnering critical acclaim during awards season, with Whishaw's co-star Franz Rogowski winning the best actor prize from the New York Film Critics Circle.
Another project Whishaw's in that is getting critical acclaim is "Good Boy," which Deadline describes as a "surreal short film" by director and writer Tom Stuart. The film is one of 15 films shortlisted for the 96th Academy Awards in the Best Live-Action Short Film category.
In other words, Whishaw is one of the most booked and busy, and acclaimed, gay actors around. And we can't wait to see what he does next on the silver screen.
