Planned Parenthood Plans Weekend of NYC Fundraising Events

Planned Parenthood has a series of weekend events in New York City, to raise money for their mission. Among them are an art show at the Park Avenue Armory, the whimsical "PUSSYPOWER" benefit at (le) pouisson rouge, and the swanky "Double Standards" all-star concert at Carnegie Hall.

On Friday, November 10 at the Park Avenue Armory, The Salon Art + Design welcomes the world's finest international galleries exhibiting historical, modern and contemporary furniture, groundbreaking design and late 19th through 21st-century art. Visitors will find designs by the great 10th century masters, as well as creative works by today's most innovative young artists. Look for Art Deco and Mid Century Modern from America, France, Italy, and Scandinavia paired with the work of today's emerging designers.

Planned Parenthood of New York City invites you to an evening of art and cocktails at the Park Avenue Armory to benefit the shared mission of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, Planned Parenthood of Nassau Country and Planned Parenthood of New York City's shared mission of providing excellent sexual and reproductive health care to all New Yorkers.�

The event is produced by Sanford L. Smith + Associates, New York, and benefits Planned Parenthood chapters. The event will be held from 6-8 p.m. on November 10 at the Park Avenue Armory, 643 Park Avenue.

And on Sunday, November 12 at (le) pouisson rouge, singer CupcakKe presents, "PUSSYPOWER! A Benefit for Planned Parenthood of New York City."

The headliner is Elizabeth Eden Harris, known as CupcakKe, a rapper and songwriter born and raised in Chicago. Elizabeth began rapping at the age of 14, starting off doing church poetry, she received the nickname CupcakKe and she later began to rap. Her first song "Gold Digger" went viral on the Internet in 2012. "Money" (2012), and "Yo Lost" (2014) gained attention, and by 2015 she broke the internet with her sexually charged anthems "Vagina" and "Deepthroat." In February 2016, she released her first album, "Cum Cake," followed that June by her second album, "S.T.D.," considered the Best Rap Album of 2016 by Rolling Stone Magazine.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. show featuring Latasha Alcindor and Precolumbian with a DJ Set. The minimum age is 18; tickets are $25.

Later that evening at Carnegie Hall, the concert "Double Standards" will celebrate women's rights, health, and empowerment at Town Hall on Sunday, November 12 at 8 p.m.

Sara Bareilles, Rosie O'Donnell, and Ingrid Michaelson join female stars of Broadway, Music and Comedy in "Double Standards," a One-Night-Only big band Jazz concert benefiting women's rights, health, and empowerment. 100% of proceeds benefit the ACLU, National Breast Cancer Coalition, and Planned Parenthood NY.

The event stars Annaleigh Ashford, Laura Bell Bundy, Denee Benton, Liz Callaway, Deborah S. Craig, Eden Espinosa, Ana Gasteyer, Lena Hall, Linda Hart, Cady Huffman, Morgan James, Leslie Kritzer, Judy Kuhn, Lesli Margherita, Jessie Meuller, Orfeh, Adrienne Warren, and more!

Double Standards benefits PPNYC, ACLU, and the National Breast Cancer Coalition. Tickets are $25 and up/ VIP Boxes are available, featuring a special meet and greet with the performers.
