It's Official: Netflix will Reboot 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy'

Fashion guru Carson Kressley recently stopped by "Watch What Happens Live!" and told Andy Cohen the early 00s reality lifestyle show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" might be returning.

Entertainment Weekly confirmed the news Tuesday, reporting Netflix is rebooting the series, which originally aired on Bravo. According to EW, the show is being "reimagined" and will be extremely topical.

"In a time when America stands divided and the future seems uncertain, a team of five brave men will try to bring us closer together with laughter, heart, and just the right amount of moisturizer," a statement from the producers reads. "The Emmy Award-winning 'Queer Eye' is back and ready to Make America Fabulous Again.

"With a new Fab 5 and the show's toughest missions to date, 'Queer Eye' moves from the Big Apple to turn the Red States pink - one makeover at a time," the statement says.

The original series began in 2003 and ended just about 10 years ago in 2007. Its core Fab Five consisted of five gay men who were experts in different lifestyle areas: Ted Allen was a food and drink connoisseur, Kyan Douglas was a grooming expert, Thom Filicia was a interior design and home style master, Jai Rodriguez was a pop culture maven and Kressley handled fashion.

EW notes there are little details about Netflix's "Queer Eye" reboot other than the show will leave New York City to focus on guys from "red states."
