BRIC and Housing Works Host Pride 20/20 Town Hall on Civil Rights

BRIC is pleased to announce that, as part of its BRIC TV initiative, and in partnership with Housing Works, it will present "Pride 20/20: LGBTQ Civil Rights," a live-broadcast, town hall-style discussion, June 14 at 7 p.m. The discussion, hosted by Brian Vines (Senior Correspondent, BRIC TV), will create a powerful dialogue around what lies ahead for LGBTQ rights and equality over the next four years.

It's a movement that found political voice at Stonewall, power during the AIDS epidemic, and a won a key national victory with gay marriage. But there's still work to be done. "Pride 20/20: LGBTQ Civil Rights" asks, where do we go from here? The event will bring together journalists, activists, artists and elected officials to discuss job and housing discrimination, racial disparities, and health. It's time for the community to stand up and #BHeard!

The event will feature moderator, BRIC TV Senior Correspondent Brian Vines, plus panelists New York City Council Member, District 15 Ritchie Torres; Housing Works and New York Trans Advocacy Kiara St. James; LGBT Staff Writer at Buzzfeed News Meredith Talusan; U.S. & Global Health Policy Director at Treatment Action Group Kenyon Farrow; and Executive Director at The Ali Forney Center Carl Siciliano.
