Watch: Tampon and Trumpet Wielding Alaska Woman Shrieks Anti-Gay Bible Rant
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Ever wonder what kind of people put Sarah Palin on the political map to begin with? Look no further.
Armed with a Bible, trumpet and tampon, an evangelical Christian known for outrageous vlogs and stunts that include speaking in tongues, took to the podium Tuesday during a meeting of the Anchorage assembly to speak out against an anti-discrimination ordinance that is being considered by the city to protect its LGBT citizens.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. You like my trumpet?" said Kathleen Tonn, as she addressed the assembly. "It's a sound that's heard around the world."
Placing down her trumpet, Tonn pulled out her Bible.
"Since I represent the Lord Jesus Christ, the great I am," Tonn said. "I'm going to add to your public record from the great I am. Starting with a tampon," she noted, pulling a tampon she was presumably using as a bookmark out of her Bible.
She then proceeded to shriek a Bible verse describing God's wrath with the great flood and destruction of Sodom of Gomorrah.
"Now, since you want to create some kind of ordinance to avoid discrimination of members of our community who engage in, I perceive unhealthy ungodly behavior, you might want to consider creating an ordinance from one who speaks in tongues."
Before Tonn could continue in gibberish, the assembly chairman said "Thank you for your testimony."
Tonn is best known to Alaskans for her failed bid for the 2014 GOP nomination for one of Alaska's seats in the United States Senate.
According to Alaska Commons, prior to her campaign for senate, Tonn made headlines for a video posted showing her in a steam room at the Alaska Club speaking in tongues to "Godless woman."
