PopUps :: Larry King Learns What it is to be Bisexual

Jason St. Amand READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Was anyone surprised Larry King didn't know what it means to be bisexual? Well maybe you were; it's 2014 after all.

"True Blood" star Anna Paquin stopped by to talk to King on his "Larry King Now" program and ended up explaining to the 80-year-old news host what it is to be bisexual.

First the two discuss her role in the HBO series, which is in its final season, before talking about marriage and her marriage to actor Stephen Moyer. King apparently is confused on how fluid human sexuality can be as well as the semantics around the definition of "bisexual."

King was surprised that Paquin is married to a man and also identifies as bisexual - apparently you can't be bi if you're in a relationship with a man. King even asked the actress if she was a "non-practicing bisexual," which sparked Paquin to give a fabulous response.

"Well, I am married to my husband and we are happily, monogamously married," she said.

"But you were bisexual?" King asked.

"Well, I don't think it's a past-tense thing," she said.

"No?" King asked.

"No. Are you still straight if you are with somebody, and - if you were to break up with them or if they were to die, it doesn't prevent your sexuality from existing. It doesn't really work like that," she said.
