Gay Days Arrives in Arizona

EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.

The heat is on in Arizona as Gay Days arrives in Phoenix, May 8-12, 2014. The Gay Days brand has come a long way since it first launched more than 24 years ago. Orlando's Gay Days has grown to an astounding 160,000 attendees. Organizers of Arizona's inaugural year anticipate upwards of 10,000 participants at 15 different events throughout the long weekend.

The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, located at South Mountain Park and Preserve will serve as home base, offering daily pool parties and happy hours, nightly "diversity dinners," drag queen bingo, pool volleyball, an '80s-theme SplashDance party at the resort's 7-acre Oasis Water Park, and a masquerade-style, high-energy dance party in the 20,000-square-foot pavilion - all located on the resort property.

In addition, 40 LGBT-friendly vendors will present a community expo as well as a "Taste of Gay Days" event, offering samples from some of the best dining venues in Phoenix. For those that want to hit the golf course, the Diversity Cup Golf Tournament will include 18 holes of golf for 20 teams, benefitting the local nonprofit Phoenix Pride Foundation.
