Like with many TV shows, the pandemic prevented the filming of Season 2 of HBO's hit teen drama series "Euphoria," starring Zendaya, who just picked up an Emmy Award for her role as Rue. But the network announced Monday that the show will return for two special episodes — the first airing on Dec. 6.

"In the aftermath of being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing, the first special episode follows Rue (Zendaya) as she celebrates Christmas," HBO writes of the episode in a press release. "Written and directed by series creator Sam Levinson, the episode, titled 'Trouble Don't Last Always,' also stars Colman Domingo, who appeared in season one."

HBO goes on to say: "The title and date of the second episode are forthcoming. Both special episodes were produced under COVID-19 guidelines."

Zendaya said on social media that her costar Hunter Schafer, who plays Jules, will appear in both episodes as well.

"We really missed them. Two special Euphoria episodes coming soon. First one December 6th on @hbo," the actress captioned her Instagram post.
