The news broke in a tweet on Thursday that Taron Egerton, who was nominated for an Oscar for playing Elton John in "Rocketman," has joined the upcoming West End revival of Mike Bartlett's "Cock," joining "Bridgerton" star Jonathan Bailey.

The tweet came from entertainment columnist Baz Bamigboye.

The combination of the two leading British actors will likely make the production, which starts performances on March 5, 2022 at The Ambassadors Theatre.

The production is to be directed by Marianne Elliott, who was nominated for a Tony for "Angels in America" and is currently bringing her acclaimed gender-switching production of Stephen Sondheim's "Company" to Broadway.

"Cock" was first staged at London's Royal Court Theatre in November 2009. Reviewing that production, Michael Billington wrote in The Guardian: "Mike Bartlett's play is a sharp, witty study of a man helplessly torn between his longtime male partner and a loving woman. Bartlett's theme, in fact, is less tortured bisexuality than the paralysing indecision that stems from not knowing who one really is."

"Cock" is described as a "comic look at identity and sexuality," in a release published on Broadway World.

In the production, Bailey plays John, "a man who is happy in himself and in his relationship with boyfriend M (Egerton), but his world is turned upside down when he meets the woman of his dreams ([Jade] Anouka)," reports the Metro.
