Watch: Hate Crime Suspect Spat in Victim's Face; NYPD Investigates
New York police have released security camera footage of a man they say spat in the face of a 57-year-old gay man in a hate crime that included homophobic language, reports local news station ABC7.
The security camera footage shows the suspect stilling along a street, a bag in hand, as he speaks on a cell phone. The crime reportedly took place in Manhattan on the evening of Oct. 8 at around 7 p.m.
Calling the incident "a disturbing homophobic attack," the news report added that "the attack appears to be random" and that it took occurred on West 42nd Street.
The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force are investigating, the news report said.
