Wednesday Jun 5, 2019

Fields Corner Main Street & blend present Dot Pride, the third annual celebration of LGBTQ Pride at blend, Dorchester's newest nightspot located at 1310 Dorchester Avenue.

Join host (and Fields Corner legend) Mizery for a night of community, food, games, drink and fun. The event runs from 8 — 10 pm to be followed by "Silver," the club's Saturday event that is moved to Friday this week that has been redubbed "Silver Pride." Mizery hosts and DJ Aga spins. There is no cover for Dot Pride and attendees can stay for "Silver Pride." "Silver Pride" is a Boston Pride sponsored event.

Fields Corner Main Street & blend are partnering with Tito's Vodka and Dorchester Brewing Co to donate a portion of drink sales to the Boston Living Center, which provides vital support to people living with HIV.

With its weekly LGBTQ events blend is fast becoming Boston's newest hangout. This week's Saturday event is "Perfectly Proud: blend's Gay Pride Mixer" with DJ Andrea Stamas. There is no cover and the fun starts at 10 pm.

Formerly the Dorchester neighborhood bar Peggy O'Neil's, the venue changed its name nearly a year ago to blend. The bar underwent an 18-month renovation under the supervision of the O'Neil family in conjunction with the city and neighborhood groups.

"We've been here since '63," O'Neil said in an interview with Dorchester Reporter last August. "So we've seen it, we've been through it: the highs, the lows, the whole thing."

"The Glover's Corner establishment is in the final stages of its transformation into a 'blend,'" the Reporter wrote, "a sleeker, more contemporary iteration of the old pub that O'Neil hopes will impress with fresh looks while retaining the character and ambiance that has come to define it.

"blend's a new name, but there's a lot of history behind this place and the people in it," O'Neil said.
