One Million Moms to Build Wall Around Taco Bell for Naughty Jingle
What the hell?
A new ad campaign by Taco Bell featuring a catchy jingle that uses a word that appears in The Bible has media morality mavens One Million Moms (1MM) ready to boycott burritos.
The 88,086 members of One Million Moms are saying "bell no!" to fast food chain Taco Bell over their latest ad campaign which uses the word "hell" in a jingle.
"Taco Bell is following a trend in crude commercials. While a few fast food restaurants are cleaning up their ads, Taco Bell decided to air a commercial that includes foul language," reads the latest call to action by 1MM founder Monica Cole.
"The newest Taco Bell commercial says, 'When your morning is hell, just go to Taco Bell.' They should not use the word hell in a jingle. We all know children repeat what they hear," Cole continued.
"Taco Bell's 'Morning is hell' ad is irresponsible and offensive. This inappropriate advertisement is airing during primetime when children are likely watching. It is extremely destructive and damaging to impressionable children viewing the commercial," Cole concluded.
In Cole's latest call to action, she makes no mention of extending a possible Taco Bell boycott to cover churches for using the same offensive language. According to the Creation Liberty Evangelism website, the word "hell" is mentioned 23 times in the New Testament alone.
